19 March 2013 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Habib Bank AG Zurich (HBZ) hosted approximately 1000 of its valued clients at the world's tallest hotel recently, as the bank celebrated more than 45 years in operations, including 38 years in the UAE.
The Annual Client Appreciation dinner held at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, organised by Arif Lakhani, Chief Executive Officer, HBZ UAE represented the culmination of a week-long conference and meeting of senior management from across HBZ Group's operations in Switzerland, UAE, UK, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Hong Kong and Pakistan.
Muhammed H. Habib, President & Chief Executive Officer of HBZ Group delivered the introductory remarks and introduced Shaun Wallis, the newly appointed Group Chief Operating Officer. H.E. Andrea Reichlin, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UAE, delivered the Keynote address. Dignitaries from the Central Bank of the UAE, Government departments and leading members of the business community were also in attendance.
The senior HBZ executives thanked their customers for their continued support and shared some key statistics that were issued by The Banker Magazine. HBZ has been ranked as the "5th Most Sound Bank" in Switzerland out of 812 banks with a strong "Capital Adequacy Ratio of 19.36%." (The Banker, July 2012), further demonstrating the Bank's reputation and adherence to strong credit risk management.
