September 19, 2012 DOHA: Governor West Bay, a five-star American chain of hotels, has opened up luxury furnished apartments in a dry hotel setting. 450 million Qatari Riyals were invested into building this hotel which has 195 furnished two and three-bedroom apartments with a capacity to host 450 persons.

"It is a matter of great pride for us to announce the opening of our hotel in Qatar. With Qatar's economy expanding rapidly, there's an increasing demand for the unique services that we provide from Qatari and expatriate residents, visitors and businesspersons. This makes it an excellent time for us to become a part of the country's burgeoning hospitality industry that serves such a large variety of people. Located in West Bay, our hotel is surrounded by commercial and government entities. Many of these include oil and gas companies in Qatar which employ people on short-term and long-term contracts. The luxurious facilities and the relaxing atmosphere make the Governor West Bay an ideal residential address for everyone in Qatar looking for a restful getaway as well as business persons and tourists" said Jean-Patrick Thierry, the Managing Director of Governor West Bay.

Governor West Bay's offering of two and three-bedroom apartments in a hotel setting allow guests to retain their independence and privacy while differentiating the hotel from the other hotels in Qatar. The advantage of living in Governor West Bay to short-term and long-term residents is that they can obtain luxurious accommodation in a central location with all the amenities at their disposal. With each suite equipped with cooking facilities, guests have the option of either cooking for themselves or dining at the hotel's in-house fine dining restaurant that provides multiple culinary options.

The hotel also provides an entire 1200 m2 business floor that can accommodate 350 persons. It is divided into six sections and the entire floor is dedicated to conference rooms, meeting rooms which are fully equipped with audio-visual equipment and all other facilities required for meetings and special occasions.

The large restaurant at the Governor West Bay is divided into four sections on two levels. It is called 'Red' as the colour scheme of the interiors is red. Red's food options include pizzas, tandoori food, a coffee shop terrace and a shisha terrace. Guests and visitors can choose to dine in the comfortable, soothing ambience of the restaurant or outdoors on the terrace during the cooler months with a charming view of the West Bay skyline.
