Earns Microsoft Dynamics Industry Excellence Award
Jubail, Saudi Arabia - Farabi Petrochemicals was recognized by Microsoft with the 2012 Industry Excellence Award, as part of the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Awards program. Farabi was honored by Microsoft executives at an awards ceremony at Convergence 2012 Houston, the premier Microsoft Dynamics user conference.
The 2012 Customer Excellence Awards, which are presented in nine categories, recognize and celebrate Microsoft Dynamics customers that have achieved notable accomplishments using their Microsoft Dynamics solutions.
Farabi Petrochemicals was recognized for its strong commitment to Industry Excellence. Working with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner - Infosys Limited, a global leader in consulting and technology, Farabi was able to build a robust, fully integrated and easy-to-use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that provides real-time visibility into company-wide data, improves business intelligence, enables rapid decision making and reduces duplication of work.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Bibi, President of Farabi Petrochemicals said, "We are pleased to receive this recognition from Microsoft in the category of Industry Excellence. This is well deserved recognition for the teams at Farabi and Infosys who have participated and contributed to the successful implementation of this ERP system. This solution has helped us improve productivity leading to increased savings and better information management."
After extensive market research and due diligence, Farabi identified Microsoft Dynamics AX as the ERP solution best suited to fulfill its requirements, as it scored high on all evaluation parameters - meeting requirements of flexibility, scalability, ease of integration and lower total cost of ownership.
"Microsoft Saudi Arabia is really proud that a leading Saudi organization such as Farabi Petrochemicals was recognized in the global program, Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Awards, and has achieved '2012 Industry Excellence Award' due to the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics solutions," said Loai Bafaqeeh, Marketing and Operations Director at Microsoft Saudi Arabia. Bafaqeeh added that Microsoft's main objective is to help businesses improve productivity and return on investment.
Optimally suited to help the company overcome its challenges, this solution enables synchronized and aligned supply and demand management, purchase and requisitioning, storage and inventory and net back statements. It helps Farabi integrate multiple facilities and departments by delivering a single, real-time view into all sales, operations, procurement and financial activities using familiar applications that are readily available globally.
Farabi reengineered business processes based on benchmarked global best practices. By leveraging Infosys' Global Delivery Model approach, expertise and extensive knowledge of packaged applications, Farabi implemented the solution at its Al-Jubail headquarters.
The deployment started in early 2010 and went live 10 months later. The system incorporates a Saudi payroll module that handles all payroll-related requirements, and the plant maintenance module was developed to cover all maintenance activities.
Ravi Kumar S, Vice President and Head, Consulting & Systems Integration, Manufacturing, Infosys said, "We are proud of our association with Farabi Petrochemicals and the recognition that this project has received from Microsoft as part of its Customer Excellence Awards. The successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX at Farabi Petrochemicals leverages Infosys' domain and functional expertise across packaged applications, offering the client innovative and comprehensive business value. We are pleased that this implementation has delivered our client tangible business benefits in an accelerated time frame and we look forward to building our relationship with Farabi Petrochemicals."
Established in 1997, the Customer Excellence Awards are awarded each year at the Convergence user conference in the United States. Microsoft Dynamics partners and team members submit nominations. Judging teams for each of the categories rated nominations on category specific criteria. Proposed winners for each category were then presented and reviewed by a panel of Microsoft executive judges for final approval. As part of that final review, winning customers were chosen.
Microsoft Dynamics is a line of financial, customer relationship and supply chain management solutions that help businesses work more effectively.
