Kuwait, 22 January 2011: In a continued commitment to engage students' interest in math and science in Kuwait, ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Kuwait Limited today announced the winner of the British School of Kuwait (BSK) Science Fair competition held last week.  Lenoy Christy from Year 5 won first place in the Lower and Junior Department category for his project on 'Fruit Batteries' that received the unanimous vote from the Fair's judges. Ruba Alhegawi from Year 8 won first place in the Middle, Upper and Sixth Form Department category for her project on 'Fizzy Drinks & Heart Rate.'

The winners received custom made trophies, together with science kits and certificates.

ExxonMobil Kuwait was a sponsor of the competition and ExxonMobil Kuwait President, Dr. John Hoholick was a member of the judging panel.

The BSK Science Fair was open to students in year 3 through to year 13.  Students were required to present a project or innovation in a science field that inspires them.  Over 30 projects were presented at the Science Fair and the best seven projects were exhibited at BSK's Lowry Gallery to be judged.

In Kuwait, ExxonMobil is a founder of the annual Kuwait Science Fair competition, Kuwait's largest math and science competition launched in 2008. ExxonMobil Kuwait also supports schools science programs and activities as well as organizes yearly educational trips for students, and for the last two years, close to 50 students have visited Qatar and London, courtesy of the company.
