The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) signed a contract with Mobil' Affiche Company to invest in and rent the advertising spaces on 3500 vehicles owned by the Authority for three renewable years starting April 2013 through May 2016.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Ahmad Mohammad Al Hammadi, acting chief executive officer of (DTC), Mr. Mohammad Hanif Merchant, chairman of Mobil' Affiche in addition to a host of high ranking officials and employees from the two parties.
"Dubai Taxi Corporation invited for a public bid to rent advertising spaces on some of its taxi vehicles and Mobil' Affiche won the bid because their offer met all the requirements, conditions and standards specified in the bid's stipulations. Therefore, they were granted the exclusive right to advertise on the vehicles on conformity with this agreement," said Mr. Ahmad Al Hammadi.
"According to this contract, the Company will rent the commercial advertising spaces on the 3500 taxis owned by the Corporation other than the vehicles granted the license by the Authority to operate taxis," he added.
The Acting Chief Executive of Dubai Taxi Corporation, Mr. Al Hammadi stressed that this contract has been designated for one entity that will be in charge of the commercial advertisements on the private vehicles owned by the Corporation, stating that there is a huge demand for this kind of advertisements by different public and private parties since taxis wander throughout the Country and considered the most expeditious marketing tool to acquire the required goals of such advertisements.
From his part, Mr. Mohammad Hanif, Mobil' Affiche chairman, expressed his happiness to win this bid and work side by side with the Dubai Taxi Corporation.
"This reflects our confidence in the economy and future of the Emirate and our eagerness to be committed to what we believe at the core of the companies' mission to contribute to its economic cycle. Our Company is featured for getting an enormous number of external advertisements and special messages about the companies' services and projects that are of great interest for the public and stakeholders at the Emirate of Dubai and can be utilized by Dubai Taxi Corporation," Mohammad Hanif said.
"The Company is ready to meet what has been agreed upon in this contract for the best interest of the Corporation, advertisers and the advertising sector. This contract enables us to provide an opportunity to exploit spaces on the vehicles for commercial advertising by individuals, companies and corporations and be committed to the wishes and requirements of the advertisers and advertising agencies in a mechanism that serves the advertising market and all the issued laws, decrees and regulations of this sector at the Emirate of Dubai," he added.
Mr. Mohammad Hanif emphasized that the advertisements, designs and contents of these commercial advertisements will be fixed and removed from the vehicles in accordance with the regulations agreed upon by the Taxi Dubai Corporation and will be committed to apply global safety conditions and quality standards recognized in this field.
