Dubai Municipality, one of the largest government organizations in the country, takes further steps for the overall welfare of its 11,000 employees from around 50 nationalities.

Eng. Khalid Abdul Rahim , Director of Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality said: 'The civic body intends to form an Employees' Council representing all employment /work categories in order to discuss all issues faced by each category and solve them in a systematic method in line with the international practices in the field of employees' welfare,'.

'The civic body is already known as one of the best place to work in the county through its numerous employees friendly initiatives, especially in terms of considering the basic needs of workers' sector, the number of which totals at 7,000, who keep the city of Dubai a comfortable place to live,' Khalid said.

'Being a huge organization, we understand the need of forming an employees' council in order to understand the issues of employees more deeply aiming at ensuring the happiness and wellbeing among its entire staff as we consider them as the basic assets of the organization,' he said.

'It would be interesting to know that the civic body has 33 departments encompassing 100 sections specialized in specific areas of municipal services,' Khalid added.

'Accreditation, architectural heritage, assets management, buildings, central laboratory, drainage and irrigation, environment, food control, GIS, general projects, knowledge management, waste management, public parks and horticulture, sewage and irrigation networks, public health and safety, public health services, survey are some the important areas that are undertaken by the Municipality,' he explained.

'It is our aim to be one of the best place to work in the world attracting the most talented people available, focusing on developing qualified nationals,' he hopped.
