Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)'s on-going drive to maintain a zero accident work environment for employees is generating positive results on a plant wide basis as the company announced that it has achieved 4 million work hours without Loss Time Injury (LTI).
Alba's Chief Executive, Tim Murray along with members of the Executive Management Team and other managers marked this safety milestone on the morning of Tuesday, April 23, 2013 by meeting employees at the gates and congratulating them on their involvement in this success.
Employees were further commended on their commitment to be proactive on matters related to safety, filing reports on near-miss incidents, and for showing intolerance towards unsafe behaviour.
Commenting on the company achieving 4 million work hours without LTI, Alba's Chief Executive, Tim Murray said:
"Safety achievements are truly a collaborative effort, and am proud to say that the involvement of Alba employees was crucial in enabling the company to attain this milestone. I would like to congratulate each and every employee, therefore, for playing their part in this success story and for taking steps in translating these safety goals into tangible action plans."
Alba had recently organised the HSE Zero Accident Week with the objective of enhancing awareness of health, safety and environment related issues amongst employees and contract staff. Over the past year, the company has also launched a safety behaviour observation campaign and has also seen widespread reporting of near miss incidents. Site visits by executives and management team have also helped in communicating and addressing concerns on safety related issues with employees.
