Muscat, May 22, 2013: As part of its strategy towards developing Omani youth and equipping them with skills needed to join the labour market, Al Takween for Educational Services and Development is proud to present innovative programmes which aim at sharpening the skills needed by young Omanis. Al Takween for Educational Services and Development is a pioneering Omani company with a focus on training and educational projects within the Sultanate.
Committed to enhancing traditional Omani values and developing 21st century skills which include thinking and problem solving skills, learning for life and promoting innovation in the education sector, Al Takween is pleased to provide the Omani youth with the resources that would enable them to deal with the challenges that the job market presents to them.
Through their dedicated English Language and IT modules, Al Takween is gaining a reputation for helping students to be empowered and in turn achieve their goals and ambitions.
Commenting on the programmes and the opportunities for Omani youth, Mr. Bader Al-Busaidi, CEO at Al Takween said: "At Al Takween, we are passionate about education and training. Towards this, we have endeavoured to put together the most exhaustive programmes designed by acknowledged experts in a wide range of specialisms. In Oman, our customised offering in terms of the 'English Unlimited' and the 'Cambridge IT Skills' programmes are what make us special. These not only ensure that our students are well equipped to join the public or private sector, but also demonstrate our expertise within in the Sultanate."
"Our programmes also develop vocational expertise in addition to computer skills, which equip young people with the proficiency required to deal with the growing technological world which is a part of the Government's strategic vision." he added.
Through the English Language programmes, Al Takween aims to improve Omani students' proficiency in English to ensure that they are equipped to undertake better global communication, as English is increasingly regarded as the language of communication and business all over the world. The programme is based on the Cambridge University Press publications and includes different stages starting from elementary to advanced depending on the experience of the students.
Delivering these programmes are professionals who have spent long years in the sector, making them the best resources to help Omani students reach global standards. Al Takween also boasts an educational facility which is equipped with the latest technology, further enabling the best possible training and development.
The English Language Courses cover writing, speaking, reading and listening skills which enable the participants to confidently communicate with others in English by the end of the programme
In addition to English Language programmes, Al Takween aims to minimise the digital divide and to build a knowledge society. In cooperation with Cambridge University, Al Takween presents The Cambridge IT Skills course which leads to the award of the International Diploma in IT Skills. The programme is very flexible giving students the choice of taking the course and the examination in Arabic or English. The assessment is done electronically to minimise the risk of human mistakes in marking and they appear on screen immediately after the end of the examination. Candidates can also choose the time that suits them for taking the exam.
The IT module covers an introduction to information technology, electronic communication using internet, and Microsoft programs. These programs are the basis of many computer applications.
