AMMAN -- The total number of seats open for competition in the municipal polls is now 1,100, Nidal Abu Orabi, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs' legal department director, said on Saturday.
The new figures include 300 seats allocated for the women quota, which includes an increase by 25 seats.
Municipal elections are scheduled to be held on August 27, under the supervision of the Independent Elections Commission.
