As part of 3rd International Banking Fair dedicated to financial and electronic banking which was held from December 3 to 6, 2009 at the El Kram Exhibition Hall, the Tunisian Union Internationale de Banques (UIB), has announced the setting up of a first Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in a hospital.
The move is a first in Tunisia. The choice was made to set up the teller at the Charles Nicolle hospital in Tunis thanks to which, visitors, nursing staff and patients can henceforth have access to ATM services..
The UIB has built several hospitals and public services and has actively participated in the national coverage of electronic banking.
The use of bank cards is on the increase in Tunisia. Figures recently released show that the number of bank tellers has reached 1385 in comparison with 729 in 2005.
