The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has pulled a brand of baby milk from supermarket shelves after it was found contaminated with bacteria.

Bebelac baby milk, and other products manufactured by Baelac Nutricia Ec with a production date of March 13, 2006, and an expiry date of September 13, 2007, were taken out of stores following an order by the General Authority of Health Services.

A source at the Food Control Authority said Baelac Nutricia had been informed of the decision and had agreed to take back all its stock. Supermarkets and pharmacies across Abu Dhabi said they had pulled the milk immediately.
