ERBIL - Total is in talks with the Kurdistan Regional Government to invest in oil, announced the chief executive of the French company.
France-Middle East website reported that Christophe de Marie did not expect to conclude any agreement with Erbil, but he stated: "Kurdistan is part of Iraq and many companies are investing there. I do not know why our group cannot invest there."
De Marie added: "We are waiting for the opportunity, but we have not ended yet.
"We are discussing to invest in the Kurdistan Region but nothing has been done so far," said de Marie to reporters on the sidelines of the International Energy Forum in Kuwait.
