Five famous firms have thrown their weight behind Dubai's efforts to bring the World Expo to the emirate in 2020. Dubai Airports, Emirates Airline, Emirates NBD, Etisalat and the Jumeirah Group have all pledged their official support as 'Premier Partners' to the bid.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman of the Emirates Group, said he hoped the backing of the globally recognised UAE-based names would put Dubai at a distinct advantage.
"With their active support, the UAE is now even more strongly positioned to be selected as the host nation for this celebration of new ideas and global partnerships, which will provide enduring benefits to the country and the rest of the world," Sheikh Al Maktoum said.
The firms will promote the UAE's bid to become the first ever Middle East, Africa or Southeast Asia country to host the world fair.
