RIYADH --Tihama Toroq launched its new generation "120 Project" across Riyadh City worth over SR150 million on Sunday night in a high-profile ceremony held at Ritz Carlton Hotel, Riyadh, attended by Engineer Mohammed Al Aqel, General Manager of Investment at the Riyadh municipality, a number of senior officials, undersecretaries of the municipality and businessmen, among others.

Speaking at the event, Sheikh Dawood Bin Fahd Al-Dawood, Managing Director of Tihama Holding said: "The project is considered the first of its kind in the Kingdom. It represents a qualitative change in the outdoor media industry in the Kingdom, as it is the most modern installation of their type in the world," noting that the project will be implemented in phases.

For the upcoming 4 years, Al-Dawood said Tihama Toroq development plans are backed by over SR150 million, adding that "the investment would be in technology, in which the latest booking and monitoring systems will be implemented, investment in locations and in human resources."

He estimated the road advertisement market in the Kingdom at $1 billion.

The advertisement poles are super slim, backlit from both sides, and have a unique single-piece construction. These characteristics make them the most elegant and distinctive poles. They are "the rare combination" of beauty and effectiveness, all in one installation."

He further said the poles are born in France and adapted to the Kingdom's climate.

He also announced that Tihama Toroq has been awarded the license to build 2,400 locations exclusively in the industrial cities of the Kingdom.

"We, today, are not only celebrating the launch of our new generation, but the beginning of an exciting new phase in Tihama long history," Al Dawood noted.

but also, marking a new era in road advertisement Noting that the industry is expected to witness a boom in the years to come, he said "yes, we are not the only one in the market as we used to be few decades ago when road advertisement market was very little. We have now competitors, but we still the largest, and we predict a boom in this industry in the few coming years with the expansion of road networks, along with building ambitious railway roads within cities and between them covering all parts of the Kingdom."

Responding to a question by Saudi Gazette, Al Dawood noted that his company is working to train Saudis for this industry because they are the most suitable ones for it, mentioning that the company has at present Saudis in leadership positions, as well as in designing, while workers on site in installing boards are mixed.
