The tragic deaths of two construction workers in Al Ain, earlier this week, highlights the need for all necessary safety precautions and regulations to be followed at all times.
Government and municipal officials across the UAE have assembled a comprehensive code of health and safety regulations that, when followed, can help to minimise hazards and ensure that those who begin a day’s work on building and construction sites around the nation, return home each night at the end of their labour.
Reputable companies all invest manpower and money into training their workers for the best international practices in workplace, limiting risks, maximising safety regulations, investing in their workers as their most valuable assets irreplaceable on a balance sheet.
But sadly, there are companies and bosses who feel that they know better, can cut costs and maker a bigger, quicker profit — even if that means putting their workers at risk. This is simply inexcusable and cannot be tolerated.
Companies, managers and supervisors who fail to ensure their workers labour in safe environments need to face the full rigours of the law.
