Telecommunications Company of Iran (TCI) is to make investments worth 25 trillion rials during the current Iranian year (started March 21). Announcing the above, Mostafa Seyyed-Hashemi, the head of the company's Board of Directors, said TCI investment rate reached 17 trillion rials during the last Iranian year, ISNA reported.
Seyyed-Hashemi added that following the privatization process in TCI, the investment rate has risen.
"We have invested 17 trillion rials in spite of financial pressures last year. The most important achievement was renovation of the mobile phone network." On the substantial assets of TCI, he said since TCI has many assets, they should be used for rendering services to people as well as expanding the company.
"We had good collaboration with various organizations such as the Privatization Organization and all state sectors, which resulted in proper investment," he said.
"We should take major steps this year toward promotion of the company." TCI was established in 1971 with a new organizational structure for handling all telecom affairs, and Iran Telecommunication Industries was also founded in the same year to manufacture the required equipment for the national long-distance network, TCI.ir wrote.
