Damascus, (SANA) - Members of Damascus Chamber of Commerce on Thursday discussed with a Turkish businessmen delegation the cooperation opportunities and establishing investment partnerships in construction, textile machines, electricity and machinery manufacturing industry.

The Turkish delegation included members of orlu Businessmen and Industrialists Association (CISAD) in Tekirdag province.

Deputy Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Bahaa-Eddin Hassan indicated to the special Syrian-Turkish relations, stressing the important role of businessmen in strengthening these relations through benefiting from investment opportunities available in both countries.

For his part, Head of the Turkish delegation Kemal Kavut highlighted the need for benefiting from the strong relations between the two countries to develop trade and investment cooperation.

He indicated to Syria's geographical importance as a pass for Turkish goods and products to reach all countries in the region.

He praised the increase in trade exchange between the two countries which reached USD 2 billion in 2010, adding that Syria and Turkey aim to raise it up to USD 5 billion over the next three years.
