Damascus - Members of Damascus Chamber of Commerce on Sunday discussed cooperation with a delegation from Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON).
Both sides discussed means of economic, trade and investment cooperation between Syria and Turkey and boosting increasing and diversifying the exchanged goods. They also tackled the possibility of establishing investment partnerships in both countries.
Deputy Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Bahaa-Eddin Hassan pointed out to the businessmen's role in bolstering the standing economic relations binding the two sides and means of developing them.
He referred to the investment and trade opportunities available in Syria which could be utilized by Turkish businessmen through direct investment or through partnerships with Syrian counterparts.
For his part, head of the Turkish delegation Mehmet Sandal expressed the Turkish businessmen's desire to explore the Syrian market and the opportunities available, lauding the accelerating development of the Syrian-Turkish economic relations.
Syria and Turkey are connected with more than 50 agreements. Trade exchange volume has doubled over the past few years as it hit 2 USD billions in 2009 with both countries' aspiring to increase it to 5 billions in the coming few years.
