Hotels and stores will offer major discounts during summer months

The Dubai Department for Tourism and Commercial Marketing has taken the initiative to encourage more tourists to visit the emirate in the summer.
DoT has decided to make peak summer time, when most schools are shut, a fun time in the emirate by launching "Dubai, my destination this summer" - from June 15 to September 30.
The initiative is aimed at attracting tourists from other emirates as well providing residents with large discounts on hotel rates, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Under the project titled "Enjoy more in Dubai" launched on May 20, 77 Hotels and 25 entertainment facilities will participate by providing large discounts on recreation and leisure activities.
Iyad Abdel-Rahman, Executive Director of Media Relations and Business Development, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing said that he expected the tourist rate to increase by 30 per cent this year.
Discounts on restaurants and hotels will range between 20-30 per cent, spas and resorts up to 20 per cent.
Dubai - the city of gold which attracts maximum tourists with the yellow metal, this year can avail a huge discount up to 70 per cent on the purchase of jewellery.
The DoT has printed 25 000 copies of a booklet entitled "shopping capital of Dubai", which includes discounts ranging between 10 and 50% in more than 80 shop and restaurants.
