Sharjah, Jan 12th, 2012 (WAM)--H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah has issued emiri decree No. 4 of year 2012, setting up the Sharjah Statistics Centre.
According to the decree, the centre will be the competent authority and the sole source of official statistical reports in the emirate. The head office of the centre will be in Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan has also issued emiri decree No. 5 of year 2012, on transfer of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Thani, Director of Office of the President of American University of Sharjah to the post of Director General of the Sharjah Statistics Centre. The article 2 of the decree states that the decree is effective from the date of issuance. It cancels any provision inconsistent with its provisions to the extent that removes this discrepancy.
