The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company International Services (STEG) will set up as of January 2011 an electrification network for 50,000 inhabitants in six provinces in North East Rwanda.

The global cost of this project is estimated at 100 million dinars.

Othman Ben Arfa, STEG's CEO said this project, whose works will continue till late 2012,  will be achieved by Tunisian technicians and engineers with equipment manufactured in Tunisia.

Under the agreement signed on November 23, 2010, STEG will also be tasked with the Rwanda Electricity Corporation (RECO), with carrying out studies, as well as providing supplies, equipment transportation, installation and operation.

Since its creation in 2006, STEG International Services has increased its operations tenfold. The company focuses on markets in the Middle East , Saudi Arabia, Qatar and in Africa.
