Algerian state power company Sonatrach awarded South Korean group Samsung a $1.2 billion contract to modernise its oil refinery in Skikda (400 km east of Algiers), APS reported on Tuesday (May 12th).
The upgrade operation is expected to increase the refinery's annual production capacity from 15 million tonnes to 16.6 million tonnes.
