DOHA: Salam Stores has announced that it is showcasing, exclusively in Qatar, the Elie Tahari collection which was created for the modern, stylish, cosmopolitan woman. The new collection is an important addition to impressive portfolio of collections available at Salam Stores.

The Elie Tahari Fall 2009/ 2010 collection, presented under the theme -- Urban Expedition -- encompasses feminine, sophisticated prints inspired by artist Tamara de Lempicka. Elegant silk printed blouses in rich jewel tones such as pumpkin, cranberry and sapphire blue are paired with classic, knee-length pencil skirts that are rich in texture and accentuated with contrasting silk sashes casually wrapped around the hip or cinched at the waist, adding a pop of color to complete the look.

Ibrahim Bitar, Regional General Manager, Salam Stores, said: "Salam has always been the torch-bearer for the best of fashion from around the globe. The new Elie Tahari collection offers endless different ways for our creative customers to express themselves in an inspiring way. The introduction of the new collection reinstates our commitment to bring the best and latest trends and textures to the region."

Dresses for day are fitted to the body and fresh when printed silks are mixed with menswear tweeds. Standouts for night include a pumpkin coloured sheath dress with a jewel toned print and dramatic draping on one side fastened at the shoulder with a structured gemstone encrusted bow.

Other prints reference the unique and elegant Japanese cherry blossom, a symbol of good fortune and an emblem of love. Patterns that incorporate branches and petal motifs are used in subtle ways on silk, satin and organza to add dimension and drama to classic silhouettes. A light grey sequin skirt or a draped silk orange top are transformed into one of a kind pieces when crème and cranberry coloured cherry blossoms are seemingly painted on.

Animal prints continue to be important for fall and are juxtaposed with jewel toned accents including an Obi belt or a cranberry silk blouse with key-hole cutouts, making the look elegant and unique. A leopard calf hair coat is one of the most luxurious pieces in the collection, perfect over a raspberry coloured silk cocktail dress.

Tailored menswear-inspired sportswear in modern silhouettes is also a focus for fall. Short tweed and herringbone jackets have strong, accented shoulders and are mixed and matched with pieces of contrasting textures in tonal hues. Longer blazers and sweater jackets replace the need for coats, acting as layering pieces. Fabrics such as grey herringbone and honey plaid are seen in a narrower pant leg, cut above the ankle and paired with feminine pieces such as ruffled and ruched detailed blouses.

The fall 2009 collection offers versatile, elegant clothes to dress the Elie Tahari woman 7 days a week anywhere in the world and is available at 'Salam Plaza' and 'Salam - The Mall' outlets.

With highest standards of customer service and latest trends from the connoisseurs of fashion, the hottest trends are now up for grabs at Salam - the place you got to style yourself this season.
