Implementation of some 480 plans and 4,500 projects which are underway in road and urban development sector require 70 trillion rials credit.
Announcing this, road and urban development minister Ali Nikzad said that a large number of the projects are inherited from the previous governments. Nikzad said the government is trying to procure the required fund and complete the projects by the end of it tenure, IRNA reported.
He said based on the available statistics the number of freeway, highway, main roads, rural roads and railways construction projects implemented during the incumbency of the present government increased significantly compared to those for previous government.
Nikzad pointed out that 1,195 transportation and 16 housing projects, costing 182.87 trillion rials, were inaugurated during Ten Day Dawn (Jan. 31-Feb. 10) which marks the anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution. The minister said about 4.3 million housing units should be built in the urban and rural areas of the country under Mehr Housing Scheme, adding so far 2.6 million housing units have so far inaugurated.
