Dubai Police have issued a warning to the public against the recruitment of illegal immigrants and of tough punishments for offenders.
Major Saeed Suhail Al Ayyali, Acting Director of the Dubai Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said violators of the labour recruitment rules, especially with regard to illegal recruitment practices, will be liable.
“Police found that the category of illegal workers comes top on the lists of theft crimes in the country and hence we urge all members of the public to be fully aware of the danger of recruiting this kind of cheap but dangerous labour,” Major Al Ayyali said. He said members of the public often employ cheap, casual workers for cleaning jobs who do not require recruitment fees, residence and other legal proceedings. But they ignore the grave consequences of recruiting illegal workers.
