Ras Laffan - Ras Laffan Olefins Company Ltd (RLOC), and its main EPC contractor Technip of France celebrated10 million man-hours, since start of construction, without Lost Time Incident (LTI), on August 5. More than 4,100 workers representing company employees and contractors of different companies working on site joined project management to mark this event.

RLOC is a Q-Chem II-Qatofin joint venture and is developing one of the world's largest ethane cracker in Ras Laffan Industrial City. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the project is being carried out by Technip France. The cracker will provide ethylene to Q-Chem II and Qatofin plants via a 120 km pipeline to Mesaieed Industrial City.

Since the start of construction in 2006, RLOC and Technip have been always striving to protect all employees, visitors, and contractors from any hazard due to their activities in the workplace. Similarly, they have setup integrated training programs and guidelines to reach its objective of zero-accident.

The new milestone reflects RLOC's philosophy and commitment to ensuring the highest safety, health, and environmental standards are met in all aspects and stages of its project execution. Like its partners, RLOC conducts its work in full compliance with Qatari Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Reserves (SCENR) rules and US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

This event is a significant world-class performance, which will definitely raise more awareness of high level safety standards and will affirm its continual progress and improvement at RLOC.
