AMMAN -- The Private Hospitals Association (PHA) on Tuesday said it embarked on a 5-megawatt power station project with the aim of providing several hospitals with electricity at reduced prices.

In a statement on Tuesday, the PHA said it is reviewing bids from several companies to implement the project.

The association said private hospitals' electricity bills constitute around 25 per cent of their total operating costs, which is high compared with international rates.
