The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ghannouchi received, on Monday in Tunis, Mr. Jean Lemierre , the Advisor to the Chairman of BNP Paribas Group.
BNP Paribas, one of the largest European leader in global banking and financial services, headquartered in Paris and London, holds the majority shares of the capital of Tunisia's UBCI bank (Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l'Industrie )
Mr. Lemierre described his talk with the Prime Minister as "positive and useful", pointing out that various aspects of co-operation between Tunisia and BNP Paribas Group had been reviewed.
He added that the meeting was an opportunity to stress the Group's role in materializing this co-operation, particularly in terms of the financing of economy, promotion of employment, and development of enterprises and exports.
Mr. Lemierre also emphasized the positive results achieved by UBCI and expressed his group's willingness to carry on efforts to increase its contribution to financing projects in Tunisia.
