Muscat: Precision Engineering and Consultancy, an Oman-based oil and gas company, will sign a memorandum of understanding today with Brunei's Intamas Corporation Sendirian Berhad and Petrojaya Sendirian Berhad (a sister company of Petrokon Utama SbnBhd) to leverage on the latter's offshore expertise, as the energy sector in Oman looks beyond the desert for new reserves.

PEC's tie up with the Brunei firm will enable the local firm to explore opportunities in EPC business at Brunei for the services related to oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical industry and vice versa. The signing ceremony will be conducted under the auspices of Khalifa bin Mubarak Al Hinai, Advisor at the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

Under the MoU, the partners will explore opportunities for including but not limited to providing engineering consultancy services, Engineering, procurement-construction (EPC) services, and project management services, to the oil and gas and petrochemical industries in Oman.

Precision Engineering is the only 100 per cent Omani company established by highly experienced professionals to offer a multidisciplinary and comprehensive range of services in design and engineering and commissioning activities in oil and gas sectors and petrochemical/refinery industries.

The founders of these firm are expanding their operations with a focus of exchange technology and skill sets besides adding value to develop local Omani engineers to compete in international business. Brunei firms Intamas Corporation Sendirian Berhad and Petrojaya Sendirian Berhad are well known in this line of business over a period of two decades.
