Oman Arab Bank (OAB) recently sponsored the Muscat International Banks Investment and Securities Exhibition (BIMAX 2012) organised by Al Ertihal Exhibitions Organising and Management Company.
The ceremony was patronised by H E Hamood bin Sangour al Zadjali, executive president of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), in the presence of officials from the banking and financial services sector, brokerage companies, financial consulting firms and investment companies.
The exhibition was aimed at promoting investment awareness among the public, highlighting the important role played by banking and financial institutions participating in the exhibition and illuminating the importance of its role in developing the national economy in many sectors, including infrastructure projects and real estate.
OAB was represented by Bishara Qafiti, deputy general manager, retail banking and operations. He said, "OAB's participation in sponsoring this exhibition came to reflect its role in financing most of the infrastructure and industrial and power generation projects in the sultanate over nearly three decades. It also reflects its commitment towards such vital projects that contribute to developing the economy and driving development efforts forward."
The exhibition aimed at introducing the public, especially the youth, to the saving and investment programmes offered by the bank.
