MUSCAT -- Oman Arab Bank (OAB) has recently sponsored the honouring ceremony of Sanad Awards 2012 Winners. The ceremony organised and supervised by the Ministry of Manpower/Sanad Programme was held at Al Bustan Palace - A Ritz Carlton Hotel under the patronage of Shaikh Al Fadl bin Mohammed al Harthy, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, in the presence of Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasir al Bakri, Minister of Manpower and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sanad Programme; Hamad bin Khamis al Amri, UnderSecretary at the Ministry of Manpower for Labour Affairs; Khalil bin Abdullah al Khonji, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), as well as a number of their excellencies key government officials and dignitaries, honoured winners and SME's entrepreneurs nominated for the Award.

Sanad Award aims at introducing the role of Sanad Programme in disseminating the culture of entrepreneurship and encouraging young men and women to start their own ventures and establish small and medium enterprises and self-employment projects that create new job opportunities and motivate creativity among them so as to come up with new business ideas that contribute to and support the national economy.

The ten best projects were honored in addition to Sanad Committees located at the winning wilayats and the committees in charge of organising and evaluating Sanad Award.

OAB was honoured as well during the ceremony in acknowledgment for its efforts and support provided to Sanad Offices through the electronic payment machines, which enable Sanad Offices to complete company formalities with government authorities with utmost efficiency and security. OAB is deemed to be the only bank to provide such support.

There are 200 offices that operate OAB electronic payment systems. For this occasion, OAB was represented by Bishara Qafiti, Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking and Operations.
