MUSCAT -- This Ramadhan, LuLu loyalists have more to cheer as LuLu opens its newest destination in Nizwa on August 15, bringing the total number of LuLu outlets in the Sultanate to 10 and in the Region to 95.

To be inaugurated by Shaikh Saad bin Mohammed al Saadi, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the new LuLu in Nizwa will create a whole new world of shopping opportunities for the residents and visitors of Nizwa, catering to the customers of the region its patented style of convenience and ease in shopping.

Touted as the largest mall in Nizwa, this new LuLu landmark will host the LuLu Hypermarket and a bevy of international brands at the Nizwa Mall. Ideally located abutting the Nizwa roundabout, the mall is accessible for customers from around the region. The 200,000 square feet dedicated hypermarket has been designed in the LuLu tradition to ensure maximum ease for everyday shoppers. Ample space has also been devoted for parking, ensuring convenience for shoppers.

The new mall is expected to become a shopper's destination with its mix of shopping and entertainment outlets and will offer a good selection of brands and product lines under one roof.

The outlet will have an extensive supermarket section with fresh vegetables, fruits, butchery and delicatessen serving hot and ready-to-eat foods and special counters serving the best of bakes and cakes and special sections to promote Omani products.

Apart from this, the hypermarket also has a huge area dedicated for department store items like electronics, home appliances, furnishing and furniture and fashion brands for ladies, gents and kids.
In Oman, LuLu intends to take the stores to different wilayats to be as close to the shoppers as possible and provide the shoppers with a shopping experience that is second to none.

Like in every other LuLu in the country, the main anchor store, the LuLu Hypermarket, within the mall will have a well stocked inventory of Omani products that have caught the fancy of many.

According to Ananth A V, Regional Director -- Oman, this clearly reflects LuLu's ideologies and the broad spectrum of its reach. "We have always endeavoured, very successfully, to demonstrate our gratitude to the country and its people with special campaigns and events that create opportunities for local manufacturers to showcase their products.

Our new LuLu will demonstrate this element of our consumer connect very vividly, with prominent display of local products and produce," he said.

This is an extension of LuLu's core principles of creating shopping opportunities and reaching every nook and corner of the country, which has led to the successive launches of LuLu stores, he added.

And with Nizwa having such a large historical presence in the country, this new landmark is expected to become the focal point of every customer in the region seeking quality retail and leisure options.

With a scrumptious food court, coffee shops, children's amusement corner and the line-up of established branded stores, expected to open shortly the mall promises endless shopping options.

More than 70 stores are expected to open up within the mall in the forthcoming weeks.

The focus of shoppers will also be on the ongoing Dream Drive campaign, which will be on at the new LuLu too. And LuLu patrons who have been actively participating in the campaign can try their luck at their new destination too.

The new LuLu could well prove to be a lucky mascot.

With almost a decade-long presence in the Sultanate, LuLu has firmly established itself as the most preferred retail destination to both locals and the large expatriate community residing here.

The group is slated to reach 100 store figure by the end of 2011 and its market also includes India, where it is building country's biggest mall in the South Indian city of Kochi and Egypt where it intends to be operational by 2012.

LuLu Hypermarket accounts for nearly a third of the Gulf's retail market share with a customer flow of 425,000 shoppers daily.

LuLu Group has always been a socially conscientious corporate organisation bringing together over 22,000 employees of 29 different nationalities in its worldwide operations.
