JEDDAH, 5 March 2008 -- The 2009 model of Mazda6, described as stylish, insightful and spirited, was launched here yesterday. The event marked the Gulf-wide unveiling of the car in its three versions -- sedan, sport hatchback and wagon.

Developed as an evolution of the carmaker's "Zoom-Zoom" concept, the all-new Mazda6's design theme is "bold and exquisite," Amin Abu Al-Hassan, chairman of Haji Husein Ali Reza Co. Ltd. (HHA), said. "Its exterior styling expresses a combination of athleticism and delicate grace."

Ali Alireza, managing director of HHA, said that the strategic plans of Mazda, developed in line with the innovative technologies used in the production of its cars, were the main factors leading to the rapid rise of Mazda car sales in the Saudi market. The launch of the second generation Mazda6 here is a continuation of the "Zoom-Zoom" concept, which began with the launch of the first generation of Mazda6 in 2002. Malcolm Gough, managing executive officer in charge of overseas sales and customer service at Mazda Motor Corporation, said, "The first generation Mazda6 combined unique and attractive styling with exceptional driving performance. Now, the all-new 2009 Mazda6 takes these characteristics a giant step forward through substantially enhanced environmental and safety performance."
