National Detergent Company (NDC) said its 2011 sales revenue grew 14 per cent to RO20.53mn from RO18.02mn in 2010.
The company's profit from operations for 2011 was RO1.21mn, compared with RO1.74mn in 2010. Profit before tax also slipped to RO1.1mn from RO1.66mn in 2010. Total accumulated profit before appropriation currently stands at RO2.8mn after tax.
The board of NDC has announced a 40 per cent dividend.
NDC's director and general manager V Sundaresan said, "The company achieved higher volumes and value sales compared to the previous year via its aggressive marketing activities and the development of new export markets."
NDC is continuing with its efforts to improve Omanisation at various levels of the organisation including senior and middle levels, with adequate training.
Sundaresan said the first phase of revamp of its acquired plant in Sohar was complete, and commercial production was initiated from January 2012.
The Sohar plant will have a capacity for 30,000 tonnes per year, which will be used to service both the domestic market and its key export markets in the GCC, Africa and the Middle East.
