Abu Dhabi: National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) yesterday said it has launched a prepaid card in partnership with Visa.
"NBAD's latest card serves as a safe and efficient alternative to carrying cash and is a pre-funded Visa Electron card that can be used at both point of sale in the UAE and abroad as well as at ATMs featuring the Visa logo," the bank said in a statement. This general purpose payment vehicle ensures that cardholders are in control of finances and spending at all times and is ideal for those without a bank account as well as visitors from overseas.
Flexibility
"Our new Prepaid Visa Card is a great addition to our card line-up as it gives consumers both flexibility and convenience while ensuring that they never exceed the amount loaded on the card," said Farman Ali, Senior Manager of NBAD's Cards Centre. "Consumers now have access to a card that truly complements their lifestyle and meets a diverse spectrum of needs."
The NBAD prepaid card is available from all NBAD branches or designated merchant outlets and can be obtained instantly by simply completing an application form and loading funds onto the card. The card can be uploaded at any NBAD branch or cash deposit machine 24 hours a day.
The flexible prepaid card is suitable not only as a gift but also as a company reward and incentive or alternatively for those not eligible for credit or debit cards. Visitors to the UAE can also benefit from zero currency exchange fees as the card is loaded with local currency. The NBAD prepaid card has a minimum load amount of Dh100 and a maximum of Dh5,000.
