Muscat: The annual general meeting (AGM) of National Detergent Company (NDC) was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel on March 24 in the presence of the Board Vice Chairman Redha Baqir Al Lawati, Board members and the company's top officials.
The AGM approved distribution of 40 per cent dividend for the year 2011. It also approved the report of the board, the auditor's report, balance sheet, profit and loss statement for the financial year ended December 31, 2011.
NDC registered sales revenue of RO20.53 million in 2011 in comparison to RO18.02 million in 2010, thereby registering a growth of over 14 per cent.
The company's profit from operation for 2011 was RO1.21 million in comparison to RO1.74 million in 2010. Profit before tax for 2011 was RO1.10 million in comparison to RO1.66 million in 2010.
The company's total accumulated profit before appropriation currently stands at RO2.80 million after tax.
The company achieved a higher volume and value sales compared to the previous year due to its aggressive marketing activities and development of new export markets for NDC's range of products.
NDC's flagship brand, Bahar, further improved its market position against multinational brands in the Sultanate due to its improved quality and consumer acceptability.
