Zara Investment (Holding) Company (Zara) aggressively goes green and lowers operating costs with two planned large scale solar hot water solutions at its 5-star Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea and Movenpick Resort Tala Bay - Aqaba. This puts Zara on the map as the only company in the region to have two properties adopting such large scale solar solutions. The two turnkey solar systems, which will be designed and installed by Millennium Energy Industries, will supply both facilities with a total of 90,000 litres of hot water daily, in summer and winter, to satisfy a significant portion of hot water consumption of over 800 rooms in both hotels. The planned solar systems, which will be integrated with the existing boilers for backup, will cover an area of 1,000m² in Movenpick Tala Bay - Aqaba and 700m² in Movenpick Dead Sea.

The payback period is expected to be less than four years, and the life span of the system of approximately 25 years. "Solar energy will help our facilities save on operating cost by using free available solar energy for our significant water heating needs," said Ahmad Jamjoum, the CFO of Zara Investment in Jordan.
