Baghdad (AIN) -The Minister of Human Rights, Mohamed Shiya al-Sudani called on Thursday the Iraqi parliament to speed up ratifying the Debaathification Law.
Sudani said in his speech during the general conference for the mass graves that was held in Baghdad on Thursday "The judicial authority has to assume its responsibility in conducting the investigations to reveal the crimes of the dissolved Baath."
The crimes committed by the former regime did not exclude any component of the Iraqi people," he added noting "The mass graves were the most brutal crimes since they did not excludes anyone and were conducted collectively."
"The deportments associated to the MoHR started the search for the mass graves and revealed and archived all these actions, the ministry also started to take the required measures in this regard in addition to the field survey to the mass graves after it was done by the citizens in non-scientific way," the minister stressed.
