JEDDAH: The all-new Mazda6 Ultra, the car that claims to have changed the concept of sporty sedans, was unveiled here yesterday in the presence of Japanese Consul General Toshimitsu Ishigure. "This family car will appeal to all, especially to families who love sedans for long-distance cruising," Ishigure told Arab News.
Ali H. Alireza, managing director of Haji Hussein Alireza & Co. Ltd. (HHA), the sole distributor of Mazda vehicles in the Kingdom, told the media that the launch of the new car reflected the company's commitment to offer latest, well-equipped and stylish models.
"The HHA's relations with Mazda Motor Corporation (MMC) remained strong over the last four decades," he added.
The Mazda6 Ultra is equipped with new technologies that account for a powerful engine with high capabilities. The increased power of its engine, new suspension system and great performance are among the other attributes of the "sophisticated luxury" car, he said.
Yuji Nakamine, executive officer and general manager at Japan-based MMC's overseas sales division, said that Mazda's "Zoom-Zoom" concept was at a higher level while developing the new car "As our flagship car, the Mazda6 Ultra offers distinctive features," he said.
The car was recently launched in the United States and Canada. "We were delighted when the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada named the Mazda6 Ultra 'Best new family vehicle.' With the introduction of the new car, we believe Mazda is positioned to take an even bigger share of the sedan market."
Hiroshi Kajiyama, Mazda 6 Ultra product manager, in his presentation said the basic product concept and key values of the new car were the same as those of the newly introduced Mazda6 for global markets, but with a different interpretation.
"This is aimed at achieving best-in-region excellence in the specific North American and GCC markets that Mazda6 Ultra is tailored for, with the result that it has become a more premium vehicle than Mazda6," he added.
