Muscat: Oman Arab Bank (OAB) was honoured by the Ministry of Manpower for the employment of national workforce in 2012 and for the support given to the training programmes.

OAB was honoured at a ceremony at Al Bustan Palace - Ritz Carlton Hotel yesterday under the patronage of Dr Yahya bin Mahfouz Al Manthari, president of the State Council in the presence of a number of excellencies, government officials and dignitaries.

The two Certificates of Honour were received by Abdul Qader Askalan, OAB chief executive officer. He said: "We are proud to be among the list of honoured companies. Such honours prove how interested we are in employing and training national cadres so that they can work with high efficiency and professionalism. Achieving the Omanisation rate as high as 93 per cent and 85 per cent in leading positions confirms our faith in the ability of Omani cadres to deliver and excel."

"We are continuing with the training of national workforce, trying to develop their abilities and professional skills as well as providing a suitable working environment because our goal is to render professional services to our clients first and to see how the bank is doing its duty," he said.
