KUWAIT, July 12 (KUNA) -- There has been noticeable rise of number of Kuwaitis visiting Egypt following election of Mohammed Morsi as president of the Republic, according to the regional manager of Egyptair.

Ali Mahroos told KUNA on Thursday that the company sold more than 600 tickets during the five days that followed the proclamation of Morsi as president of the nation.

Tourism is picking up in Egypt, simultaneously with gradual and continuing settlement of conditions in the country, he affirmed.

Egyptair has secured flights to various key destinations in Egypt, namely Cairo, Alexandria, Sohaj, Luxor and Asiut, in addition to internal transit flights to the airports in Al-Ghardaqa and Sharm El-Sheikh.

The company is coping well with the summer high travel season and will secure flights back to Kuwait during Ramdan, he affirmed.

Egyptair's daily flights to and from Kuwait, at present, amount to five, a at a rate of 700 passengers, he said, boasting of newly-operated jets namely Boeing-777 and Airbus-330.
