BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Kuwait is expected to spend between 4.5 billion Kuwaiti dinars ($15.76 billion) and KWD5 billion on development projects in the new fiscal year, Kuwait-based Al Seyassah daily reports Tuesday citing Mustafa Al Shamali, the country's finance minister and deputy prime minister.

The oil-rich state's 2013/2014 fiscal year began in the current month.

Mr. Shamali said according to the newspaper that he expects the Kuwaiti economy to grow between 4.5% and 5% in 2013.
