KUWAIT: KSE continued it's growth momentum for the third consecutive session. General Index (GGI) rose by 4.67 points (+ 1.23 percent) during today's session reaching 383.19 points. KSE Price index increased by 65.20 points (0.44 percent) to close at 14,940.80 points. Market capitalization went up today by 1.23 percent today to reach KD60.93bn. During yesterday's session, 154 companies were traded. Market breadth skewed toward advancers as 60 stocks reported daily gains, while 44 stocks witnessed daily los
ses.
Volume and value of shares traded on the exchange ended today's session on a positive note as investors exchanged 228.95mn shares +9.70percent) at a total value of KD115.80(+14.27 percent. Services sector accounted 32.08 percent of total volume traded).
Al Safwa Holding Company was the volume leader for the day, as investors exchanged 23.28mn of the company's shares. The scrip ended the day up by 3.54 percent to close at 234fils. Mena Holding Group was the value leader for the third consecutive session as well with a total value of KD13.09mn.
In terms of top gainers, First Dubai For Real Estate Development Company was the prominent gainer for the day adding 12.35 percent to close at 455fils. On the other hand, Kuwait Packaging Material Manufacturing company was the biggest loser for the day shedding 11.36 percent to close at 780fils.
Sector-wise, all of the eight indices showed a positive performance except Global Insurance sector which was the only decliner shedding 1.25 percent backed by Kuwait Insurance Co. which plunged by 3.77 percent today to close at 510fils.
Global Industrial index was the highest gainer among the sectors gaining 1.93 percent reaching 436.80 points.
National Industries Group (Holding) was the prominent gainer adding 4.84 percent to close at KD 1.300. Global Services index followed, as it went up by 1.80 percent reaching 1,414.2 points. Yaidco Medical Company was the highest gainer among the sector as it rose by 5.32 percent to close at 198fils. Hayat communications Company followed adding 5.06 percent to close at 415fils.
Regarding Global special indices, it showed a positive performance. Global Large Cap. Index went up for the third consecutive day to rebound adding 2.01 percent to close at 329.96 points. Among the index's components were Zain and Kuwait projects Company which rose by 2.63 percent and 1.85 percent respectively. Kuwait Finance and Investment Company announced that it will be listed on Dubai Financial Market on August 3rd, 2008.
PALMS AGRO PRODUCTION CO. signed a contract with The General Authority of Agriculture and Fisheries with a total value of KD1.17mn and expects net profit of 20 percent. Interim Earning for the period ended on June 30, 2008.
