The soaring global food prices have driven Kuwaits inflation rates up to 3.1 per cent in July 2012, according to a report by Kuwait Finance House Research. Kuwaits consumer price index (CPI) based inflation inched up to 3.1 per cent in July 2012 from 2.8 per cent in June 2012 as food prices (the second largest contributor of Kuwaits CPI basket at 18.3 per cent) rose to 6.6 per cent in July 2012 from 4.9 per cent in June 2012, the report said.
