BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Kuwait's Aref Energy Holding Co. (AREFENRGY.KW) said Wednesday its loss widened to 9.19 million Kuwaiti dinars ($33.1 million) in the first quarter, from a loss of about KWD633,000 in the year earlier period.
Total assets stood at KWD86.47 million at the end of March, down 20% from KWD107.5 million a year earlier, the company said in a statement posted on the Kuwait bourse website.
Aref's shares fell 1.2% to close at KWD0.083 Wednesday.
