ERBIL - The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has signed a deal with the South Korean, Posko, to set up a stem power station to the tune of $700 million.

The deal was signed by the KRG Electricity Minister and the South Korean company to establish a 300 megawatt stem power station in addition to a 400 KV transforming station that will be the first such station in Kurdistan.

The station is expected to be finished in three years and will be built in Khabat town, just outside Erbil city to the west. The 400 KV transformer project will be in Bazyan town, in Sulaimaniyah province, and will be accomplished in 18 months according to the deal.
