AMMAN -- His Majesty King Abdullah is scheduled to leave for a working visit to the UK on Tuesday, during which he will hold talks with senior British officials.

Whilst in London, King Abdullah will meet UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Foreign Secretary William Hague and several MPs from the UK parliament, according to a Royal Court statement.

The Monarch's discussions with the British officials will focus on the developments in the Middle East.

The talks will also cover the Syrian conflict, in light of the G-8 summit in Northern Ireland which is expected to be dominated by the Syrian crisis and ends shortly before the King arrives in London.

The King will also discuss the efforts to achieve regional peace and end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, on the basis of the two-state solution, the statement said.

In addition, the talks will address ways to strengthen Jordanian-British cooperation.

During the visit, King Abdullah is scheduled to deliver a lecture at the Royal College of Defence Studies.
