Al Ain, 7th May 2012 (WAM) -- President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan received today at Al Rawdha Palace Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC), who is currently visiting the UAE as part of a tour of the region.

The President was briefed by Al Zayani on preparations for the 14th consultative summit of the GCC leaders scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia capital Riyadh during the current month. Sheikh Khalifa was also updated on what had been implemented in regards to resolutions issued by the GCC summit held in Riyadh last December.

Sheikh Khalifa expressed his confidence that the upcoming consultative meetingwould advance the GCC march in all fields in a way that realises aspirationsof peoples of member states.

The GCC secretary general said he had the honour of meeting the UAE leaderand informing him of the agenda of the 14th consultative summit.

Al Zayani added that he listened to the sound and prudent directives of Sheikh Khalifa on adequate means to energise the GCC joint action. He indicated that he also sensed the UAE President's keenness to push GCC integration forward so to be able to address present and future challenges.

The GCC chief also praised the unflagging support lent by Sheikh Khalifa to the GCC march so as to realise prosperity and achieve more gains for GCC citizens.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a number oftop officials attended the meeting.
