BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Umniah Mobile Co., a Jordanian unit of Bahrain Telecommunications Co., or Batelco, has launched its third generation 3.75G broadband internet network in which it has invested more than 100 million Jordanian dinars ($140.8 million), Amman-based Al Rai daily reports Monday citing an executive.
Umniah has paid JOD50 million for a license to use the third generation frequencies and about JOD50 million to develop and build the new high-speed mobile network, Ahmad Jaghoub, head of Umniah's engineering department, said according to the paper.
