Amman - President of the University of Jordan (JU) Khlaif Tarawneh on Monday discussed with Director of the Turkish Cultural Center in Amman Mehmet Yildirim, means of boosting bilateral academic and cultural cooperation.

Talks during the meeting also tackled ways of supporting the JU's efforts in teaching Turkish language with the use of modern and advanced means.

Tarawneh said that the JU has 35 Turkish students studying different specialties like Theology, Fiqh, English Language and Arabic Language, adding that 40 other students are studying Arabic language at the JU's International Institute for Teaching Arabic for Speakers of Other Languages.

Yildirim expressed his country's willingness to participate in the JU's Golden Jubilee celebration by holding cultural activities to enable students to get acquainted with the Turkish culture.
